7. Batman: Arkham Knight

This game takes place in Gotham City, where a bunch of supervillains led by evil mastermind Scarecrow have taken over. But aside from fighting the likes of Two-Face, the Riddler and Penguin (and Scarecrow himself, of course) Batman also has to deal with another villain, this time the struggle taking place in his own mind.

Aside from the engaging main story missions, this features a plethora of side activities in its open world Gotham: thwarting a series of bank robberies, tracking down a serial killer and rescuing hostages is all part of the fun here. Plus, roaring around in the Batmobile is exhilarating, as is facing off enemy drones aboard Batman’s car. Few games nail the feeling of being the Dark Knight as well as this one, as this surely is one of the decade’s top video game highlights.
