5. Kojima and Abandoned

It’s clear that Hideo Kojima is one of the top video game creators out there, with games like Metal Gear Solid V and Death Stranding under his belt. He’s been quiet on what his next video game will be, which led to much speculation that an unassuming indie game named “Abandoned” was in fact a secret Hideo Kojima project.

And there were indeed plenty of coincidences, such as the fact that Abandoned studio Blue Box Games’ boss has the same initials as Hideo Kojima. Also, the trailer for Abandoned seemed to reference Silent Hills, a Kojima video game that never was, as Konami cancelled the project and fired Kojima afterwards.

Plus, Kojima himself stoked the fires of controversy by seemingly referring to Abandoned and the Silent Hill series in his tweets. Meanwhile, Blue Box used what appeared to be an image of a Metal Gear Solid character on Twitter too… Nonetheless, this all now seems like a ruse pulled off by Blue Box to promote their survival horror game though.
