3. Sean Bean

Sean Bean is an English actor you probably remember for his role of Boromir in The Fellowship of the Ring. But in my view, no matter how widely revered Peter Jackson’s Rings movies are, they did not do Tolkien’s books justice. But at least Sean Bean put in a good performance as the troubled and gruff Boromir.

When it comes to video games, Sean Bean has done voice work for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, which is certainly a fine example of a role-playing game. And he also starred in the Silent Hill movie, based on the pant-wetting horror video game of the same name, and certainly one of the best examples of video game movies to date. In the movie he plays Christopher Da Silva, the husband of Rose, a woman who heads to the town of Silent Hill to find a cure for her ailing daughter. Later they both take part in a desperate search for their daughter, who disappears in the creepy town, as they are stalked by surreal monsters in a movie that sure does justice to the video game.
