2. Wing Commander (1999)

Wing Commander was a space combat video game which was popular in the 90’s, it was like Top Gun in space. And while the video game took people’s breath away, the movie certainly did not. Chris Roberts (who also created the game) tried his hand at directing and sadly, the result is one of the worst movies of all time.

It’s not that the movie fails in terms of acting, writing, directing and special effects (even those were cheesy) but it also ignored the basic laws of science. In one scene, the rumble of an enemy destroyer can be heard inside a Confederation ship, as it passes by. But anyone who has seen Alien knows that “in space no one can hear you scream”, because sound does not travel in vacuums, although apparently nobody told the filmmakers this…
