19. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 3D

This game takes places shortly after the first Star Wars movie. After the Rebels blow up the Death Star, Rogue Squadron (led by none other than Luke Skywalker) is formed, and players get to embark on a series of missions for the Rebel Alliance. Strangely enough, this game by LucasArts largely skipped the space battles, with the action taking place over planets, and letting you take control of spaceships like X-Wings and Y-Wings (the Rebel’s powerful bomber and assault fighter) in a variety of missions.
Rogue Squadron is considered by many a Nintendo 64 classic from the 90’s, but it also made it to PC. And although it lacks the depth of games like Tie Fighter as it offers arcade-style action, it’s still a solid Star Wars flight combat game.
