Ubisoft was criticized last year not only because the last game in the Assassin’s Creed series, Unity, had a rather poor launch, but because they stated at last year’s E3 show that the game did not feature any playable female characters because adding a playable female character to the game would have “doubled the work”. But this year the French publisher is making amends for that, as the upcoming Syndicate will allow players to freely switch between protagonist Jacob Frye and his sister Evie, who will be the first player-controlled heroine in a major Assassin’s Creed game.

The game will take place in 19th century London, and judging by the trailer below, it looks like the combat in this Assassin’s Creed game will be more fluid and dynamic than in previous entries. Also protagonist Jacob will be able to use a rope launcher, which is one of the game’s gameplay innovations, to climb to high spots, and this will surely make getting around the city more enjoyable than in previous Assassin’s Creed games.

Release date: October 23, 2015. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The PC version will be released on November 19.
