12. Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D

Square Enix is planning to release a remake of Dragon Quest II next year. The game was originally released in 1990, but has been remade and re-released quite a few times already, which speaks volumes for its popularity of this classic RPG game. It will be bundled together with the original Dragon Quest from the 80’s, also remade in HD-2D…

The game pits an evil wizard against a prince, and is the middle chapter in what is known as the Erdrick Trilogy. Japanese company Square Enix, will be releasing a HD-2D remake of Dragon Quest III (which actually stars hero Erdrick unlike the other two), but fans of the saga will be holding their breath for the Dragon Quest II and I remakes when they arrive next year, no doubt.
