6. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond

This long-awaited Metroid Prime sequel is finally arriving next year. The series’ protagonist Samus Aran will be returning for this instalment, and could be squaring off against bounty hunter Sylux, who was last seen in Metroid Prime 3.

This is being made by Retro Studios, which have made all the past Metroid Prime games. The original in particular is considered one of the best games ever made, so this sequel has some big boots to fill. The trailer below showcases the series’ first-person combat and sci-fi world, as protagonist Samus Aran takes on the game’s enemies. This is definitely one Nintendo Switch exclusive many are waiting to play, but will it live up to the hype next year? This remains to be seen.
