This sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is not a continuation of that game’s story, and features a new protagonist. It is also set hundreds of years after the Mongol invasion depicted in the 2020 game, in the Japanese northern island of Hokkaido. The game’s title is a reference to Mount Yotei, which is seen in the announcement trailer below and where protagonist Atsu is seen plying her trade.
Atsu is another warrior wearing a “ghost” mask to fight her enemies, like protagonist Jin Sakai of Ghost of Tsushima. And there will be plenty of enemies to fight, as one character tells her in the trailer “every ronin here is after you”, meaning this could be another exciting open world adventure in a beautiful Japanese setting like Sucker Punch’s previous game was.
