4. Civilization VII

It makes sense the announcement of Civilization VII was warmly received by video game fans. After all, the turn-based strategy game series has been going strong since the 1990’s, and has millions of players worldwide.

Not all were pleased with Civilization 6, though, as not all of its gameplay innovations (like the city districts) shone brightly, while some still prefer the charms of Civilization 5. But innovations like picking a new civilization to play with in each era, plus a host of new historical leaders to play as, could make the next game a winner.

So here’s hoping that American video game company Firaxis can deliver a great entry in the Civilization series next year, one which lives up to the series’ best games (and the classy trailer below too).
