19. Rage 2

This post-apocalyptic video game is Bethesda’s take on the Mad Max movies, and is already looking like it could be one of the top action games of the year. Aside from offering open-world gameplay and a big map to explore, this boasts plenty of over the top action as can be seen in the trailer below.

The world will be colourful here (the colour pink is prominent on the game’s cover art after all), while there will also be plenty of wacky and weird characters in Rage 2’s post-apocalyptic world. A collection of hard-hitting weapons including the BFG gun from the Doom games and the fact Avalanche Studios (makers of Just Cause) are behind this, means this may end up being one of the most exciting action games of 2019 no doubt.

Release date: May 14, 2019. Available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
