14. Assassin’s Creed Origins

After Assassin’s Creed Unity let many down with its glitches back in 2014, and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate flopped in 2015, many feared we would not be seeing another Assassin’s Creed game. But Ubisoft silenced all naysayers when it showed off Assassin’s Creed Origins at this year’s E3, the next major game in the series which will be making its debut this fall.

This will be a reboot of the series, and tells an origin story about how the famous Assassin order came into existence, with ancient Egypt serving as a beautiful backdrop to the action. But aside from the lovely Egyptian vistas, this will also feature the parkour action seen in the earlier games, with the added bonus of being able to climb the famous Pyramids of Giza this time around. It remains to be seen, though, whether the reworked combat and Egyptian setting will be enough to make fans fall in love with the Assassin’s Creed series again. Either way, it’s clear Origins will be one of the year’s top PS4 games when it hit shelves this fall all the same…
